From Local Beers To High-End Cocktails, Rock Hill’s Bar Scene Has It All
Rock Hill has some of the best bars and nightlife spots around. Whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail, wine, or a local craft beer, there’s always a venue that hits the mark. When I go out seeking a chill pub vibe or a trendy bar with live music, I know exactly where to find it in Rock Hill.
One of the great things about Rock Hill’s nightlife is the variety of atmospheres. You can find cozy pubs with a rustic charm and modern bars with sleek decor. The bartenders here are passionate about their craft, often whipping up creative drinks and offering personalized recommendations. Weekends are especially fun, with live music that brings together both locals and visitors.
Hoppin’ Rock Hill
Location: Downtown – 110 Southern St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
I love heading over to one of Rock Hill’s trendiest bars. I usually go with a group, and we all hang outside and sip our self-serve pours. Yup, they do self-serve draft beer and cocktails and this is THE PLACE for self-pour frozen margaritas. They´ll give you wristbands when you enter and let you try beer and cocktails by the ounce. Just keep an eye on your pour, or the ounces will add up fast.
When to Go
My friends and I tend to go when there are live music events so we can enjoy the lively rooftop seating. I also try to go on Tuesdays when their famous frozen margaritas are only $6. They also do music bingo, trivia, and thrift markets. For all their event info, stay updated on Instagram and Facebook
The Vibe
Hoppin’ Rock Hill has such a casual atmosphere, which is just what I need after a long week. They have tons of space inside, but the outside is even better, with green grass that gives chill patio bar vibes. The setting is truly ideal for all the fun gatherings and events they hold.
Don’t miss the Cibi Cibi food truck for amazing food truck fare.
Burgers & Barley
Location: Winthrop – 111 Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732
In my opinion, Burgers & Barley is a local dive bar that’s an absolute gem, known for its delicious burgers, boozy milkshakes, and craft beers. People honestly get obsessed with their boozy milkshakes. They have loads of bizarre, delicious flavors like Bacon, Bourbon, Caramel, and the Nutty Professor.
When To Go
Great for weekend gatherings and when you want to try something different. I keep an eye on their events page for upcoming specials and stay updated on their Instagram and Facebook pages.
The Vibe
It’s got that dive bar charm but with stellar food that blows you away. I usually hit the patio for some fresh air while enjoying a craft beer, but someone in the group always orders a milkshake. It’s perfect for a laid-back night with friends.
Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails
Location: Powerhouse – 300 Technology Center Way Suite #203, Rock Hill, SC 29730
Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails is my go-to for a classy night out. The place has a cool ambiance, perfect for sipping on craft cocktails. It’s a bit more upscale but still relaxed enough that you’ll feel at home. It is a great spot for date night or catching up with friends, as it’s not too loud and rowdy.
When To Go
If you want to join a free class, head over on the second Friday of the month. Otherwise, they have happy hour every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Follow them on Instagram and check out their events page for details and times.

Player 1UP
Location: Downtown – 140 E Main St Suite 140, Rock Hill, SC 29730
I’m not going to lie. I think I enjoy the arcade games more than the bar, but the bar is pretty top-notch too. Be sure to try one of their super nerdy, gamer-themed cocktails, like The Princess Peach or Bowser´s Breath (my personal favorites). In addition to their themed cocktails, Player 1UP is also equipped with a full bar and offers unlimited arcade games for just $5. Player 1UP is the spot in Rock Hill for gamers and nostalgia lovers alike.

The Common Market Rock Hill
Location: Downtown – 161 W Main St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
What I love about The Common Market Rock Hill is that there’s so much going on while it somehow maintains a laid-back pub spot vibe. I’ll sometimes stop in just to grab a pack of SC’s most unique Pluff Mud Porter (yup, it’s made with real mud), or I´ll stay for a while and visit at the bar with the easy-going, friendly bartenders. They keep well-stocked on local brews and wines.

The Roasting Company
Location: Downtown – 122 S Oakland Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730
The Roasting Company is a great place for a relaxed, casual lunch or dinner. It has more of a restaurant feel than a bar, but don’t get me wrong, the bar can definitely get lively! It’s my go-to for a no-fuss, delicious meal and drink, and it’s usually pretty easy to walk in and grab a seat at the bar.
When To Go
It’s best to go when you’re craving a cold drink with rotisserie chicken or wings, but they have great veggie options too. They also offer daily specials like Chicken Pot Pie on Wednesdays! Follow their Facebook for occasional drink and food specials.

D’Pour House
Location: McConnells – 4390 McConnells Hwy, Rock Hill, SC 29732
D’Pour House is rumored to be the best classic Rock Hill dive bar, and I totally agree. Its location makes it perfect for locals out in the country. I don’t get there very often, but I like that it’s known for its friendly locals, cold beer, wine, cocktails, and live music.
When To Go
The best time is on weekend nights when they usually have live music. Shout out to DJ Erik, who hosts the best karaoke. They also hold music bingo and Whiskey Wednesday, with pool tables and horseshoe pits for even more fun. Follow their Facebook for event more info and specials.
The Vibe
I love that D’Pour House is the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. It’s a dive bar that’s a bit run down with an old-school biker bar vibe. It’s just a fun place to be. I recommend grabbing some bar food and a cocktail here for a city escape.
Shawkers Grill & Bar
Location: Downtown – 1415 E Main St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
For some reason, I always end up watching March Madness here, and it’s always the best time. Shawkers Grill & Bar is one of my top fave sports bars, complete with friendly staff and a wide selection of great beers on tap. They also make a mean Bloody Mary.

Grapevine – Riverwalk
Location: Riverwalk – Terrace Park, Rock Hill, SC 29730
When I’m in the mood for a wine bar and a walk on a cool night, my friends and I head to Grapevine — Riverwalk. They’ve got an awesome wine selection, and the staff always hooks me up with great picks (as I don’t know much about wine). This is the best place in Rock Hill to find local wines of all shapes and colors.

Tattooed Brews
Location: Downtown – 120 E Main St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
Nope, they do not do tattoos. But this place is one of the coolest open-late bars in Rock Hill. It’s the place to go if you’re craving an eclectic ambiance, modern jukebox, and local craft beers. Tattooed Brews is open super late, and I’ve had some of the best nights here, especially when they have live music.

Tattooed Brews is one of those places that instantly feels cool and welcoming. The industrial decor and local craft beers set the stage for a good time that leans into it’s grungy vibe while serving up killer local craft beers.

The Journeyman Tavern’s like stepping into a cozy Irish pub. If you’ve ever been to Ireland, this tavern will bring those memories rushing back. I keep coming back for their traditional Irish grub — you can’t go wrong with the Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Stew, and a pint. They have all kinds of beer, wine, cider, and bubbly.

Main Street Bottle Shop is mostly my local beer and wine specialty shop, but it also has a cool little patio bar and pub. Don’t miss their regular events like tap takeovers and wine tastings.
